A Long-awaited Event - Indy Finally Had Her Foal in the Paddock in Broad Daylight

New foal for Gen's Independent DelightMarch 10, 2008 - Finally! The long awaited event arrived. This is my last baby - I am not breeding any more. Mom and baby girl are doing great.  Born at 11:30 am; placenta expelled 12:30; baby nursed at 1 pm and pooped at 1:30 - text book birth. Look at those long legs.... All I could see was legs - legs- legs...

Gen's Independent Delight (Indy) DNA color is:  (EE) (aa)  Sire is Goldust's Royal Chance DNA color is:(e/e), (A/a) (Cr/Cr)  I assume with the DNA calculations I have, Indy has given me a gorgeous Smoky Black girl.

Indy pulled one on me  -- for weeks on end now I have had my clock set to wake me up every 30 minutes to look at the monitor to make sure all was okay. We did a foal predict kit this morning andNew foal for Gen's Independent Delight no color changed. Her milk went from gold last evening to milky white this morning. I expected a birth tonight and dreaded another sleepless night. I put her in a small paddock in front of the barn to get a little leg stretch. She was not out there much more than 10 minutes, she lay down and whamo - began hard labor and began straining like crazy - the legs and nose crowned great, but nothing else happened and she was straining and trying to roll and straining.

I gently gave a little tug downward on the legs and whoosh - out came the baby. Indy gave such a loud sigh of relief.  Vet came on out and checked her over. The straining birth showed in the right eye a little red, but should clear up within a day or two. Other than that she is in perfect health. I always stay on my toes with Royal's babies he tends to throw very large babies. I am going to truly miss this wonderful event in birthing and being able to witness a miracle with each birth. Is this not a perfect way to start off a Monday?? Now what to name this beauty??

Ummmmm - appears my smoky black might turn out to be a buckskin ---- what do y'all think?

A New Chance For Longview (Sunday) By: Goldust Champion Dement.
This is Champ's first baby.

Oh WOW! Cissy is the first of my goal to produce high percentage foundation Last Chance line bred TWH from Albert Dement's foundation stock. She boasts a bloodline that relates  back to Last Chance on every generation top and bottom (with the exception of Gay's Go-Go Girl) that  goes to  well known foundation lines including Merry Boy and Black Lace. Her lineage is superb for the natural Walking Horses that were bred and born before action devices and gimmicks  used  to create the un-natural Big-Lick way of going. Foundation line horses are born gaiting and do not need special training to produce a water glass smooth ride. Their temperament, disposition, intelligence cannot be beat.

It is time for History to be repeated for this wonderful breed and get back to the beginning of what the "Old-Timers"  intended in their breeding programs. Why tweak with perfection? For a glide ride of your life - basic natural training for saddle is all that is needed.

~~~~~~~~ Herd Dispersal!! ~~~~~~~~
Must sell!! I am only keeping a few horses for my own "horse fix" and enjoyment. I will not be breeding anymore. My horses are excellent bloodlines of the old time foundation lines. See the Horses for Sale section for more information.
FLAG KISSING MIRACLE WHEN MIRACLE WAS FIRST BORN Read about "Miracle Boy" - Chance Miracle Dement,  Stallion, born August 02, 2005.  He has more "Last Chance" in his pedigree than any foal born in a very long time. He is truly Memory's Miracle!! Dam is Longview Chance's Memory. Sire is Goldust Royal Chance.
Mr. Dement was one of the pioneers of the development of true gaits of the Walking Horse breed as early as 1905. He bred into his horses lots of head motion, good long necks, perfect ears and large eyes, perfect canter and flatfoot walk and running walk truly as great as any ever displayed by Tennessee Walking Horses. Our horses are a very rare, select group within the Tennessee horse world.
Throughout the past several years, the 100% Dement horses have dwindled down to only a few surviving mares and a couple of studs left in the world that are truly 100% line-bred. Betty Dement, daughter of Arthur and granddaughter of Albert Dement still owns some of the originating stock.
RoyalOur stallion, Goldust Royal Chance, was born and raised at Triple K Bar C Farm. He is an exceptional stallion with breeding, personality, walk and calm nature. After a short stay away from our farm I bought him back in April 2006. He has been bred to Indy, Opie and Neek for 2007 babies who will be for sale. What breeding! Royal has that natural easy gait that he was bred for. Cremello! Blue eyes! Excellent bloodline! We are thrilled to have Royal back home with us at Triple-K-Bar-C Farm. Royal sired 4 of our 2005 foals. Genetic color test: e/e, A/a, Cr/Cr. Now in training with Donna West - www.donnawest.com
